Job description

We are seeking an innovative and adaptable Restaurant General Manager to lead our dynamic establishment, which offers both fine dining and a vibrant club/pub atmosphere that welcomes families during the day. The ideal candidate will take ownership of the role, driving engagement and reaching targets while managing effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Engage and Manage: Drive customer engagement and achieve business targets.
  2. Proactive Problem Solving: Provide superb customer service, investigate complaints, and resolve issues efficiently.
  3. Social Media and Marketing: Utilize strong social media and marketing skills to enhance our online presence and marketing efforts.
  4. Process Improvements and Event Planning: Implement process improvements and plan engaging events.
  5. Dynamic and Passionate Leadership: Be welcoming, passionate, and maintain a profitable mindset.
  6. Staff Training and Development: Train, develop, and motivate staff to ensure high performance.

Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Oversee daily operations across both front-of-house (FOH) and back-of-house (BOH), ensuring seamless service from opening (11:00 AM) through to close (typically midnight–2:00 AM).
  2. Manage inventory, vendor relationships, and supply ordering to maintain consistent stock levels and product quality.
  3. Collaborate with accounting, human resources, and senior leadership to align on financial and operational goals.
  4. Lead recruitment, training, scheduling, and ongoing development of FOH and BOH team members.
  5. Ensure compliance with all applicable health, safety, and alcohol service regulations.
  6. Monitor food, beverage, cleanliness, and service standards, making adjustments as needed to uphold quality.
  7. Manage labor, food, and beverage costs, ensuring alignment with budgetary goals.
  8. Represent the establishment at industry events to stay current on trends and best practices.
  9. Oversee brand presence and engagement across social media platforms, ensuring timely responses and consistent messaging.
  10. Address and resolve customer concerns or escalations in a timely and professional manner.
Qualifications & Experience:
  1. Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager in a high-volume food and beverage environment.
  2. Proven ability to lead and manage both kitchen and front-of-house operations.
  3. Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets, cost control, and seasonal scheduling.
  4. Smart Serve certification and a thorough understanding of Ontario liquor laws and compliance.
  5. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with a collaborative, solution-oriented approach.
  6. Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and late-night hours.
  7. A genuine appreciation for Irish culture and hospitality is a strong asset.
