Job summary

Nortera Foods Inc. is seeking highly motivated, energetic individuals to join our Packaging department as a General Labourer. The General Labourer ensures the highest quality product is packaged while following training, safety instructions, policies, and procedures.

Assignments depend on lifting ability and prior experience in production shifts. Shifts rotate 8 hours with Days, Afternoons and Nights, and may include overtime.

Qualifications

• Must be capable of speaking, reading, and writing English at a Level 3 requirement.
• Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment, wet, cold and soapy work areas.
• Must meet minimum dexterity requirements: bending, twisting, reaching, lifting, crouching, kneeling, standing, walking, sitting, etc.
• Rotating 8-hour shifts with bi-weekly rotation between Days, Afternoons, Nights; on-call shifts including overtime.
• This position is a HEAVY lifting capability role (lift up to 32kgs, multiple times per shift).
• Demonstrated punctuality, reliability, teamwork, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to climb rolling & stepladders and platforms up to 20ft high.
• Must be able to inspect vegetable products and be near vibrations for long periods.
• Ability to work diligently in a fast-paced, safety-focused environment to meet deadlines.
• Hourly wage is $19.25 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Case Piling: lift and stack finished product cases onto pallets for wrapping and shipment.
• Tote Dumping: transfer frozen product from bulk totes into hoppers for blending, packaging, and shipping.
• Utility: prepare bulk totes for production, perform housekeeping, assist with tote dumping, support production activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient environment.

Nortera Foods Inc. is currently seeking highly motivated, energetic individuals to join our Packaging department on a fulltime basis as a General Labourer. The General Labourer is responsible for ensuring the highest quality product is packaged while following all training, safe work instructions, company policies, and established procedures. This role requires a strong commitment to teamwork, as employees work closely with others and may be required to perform multiple tasks throughout a production shift. Assignments are based on lifting ability and previous experience.

Work Intensity – Heavy Lifter - Ability to repetitively lift 30–32 kg (66–70 lbs) throughout an 8-hour shift.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Case Piling: Safely lift and stack finished product cases onto pallets for wrapping and shipment using proper lifting techniques.
• Tote Dumping: Safely transfer frozen product from bulk totes into hoppers using designated tools and equipment for blending, packaging, and shipping.
• Utility: Prepare bulk totes for production, perform housekeeping duties, assist with tote dumping, and support other production activities as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned while maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient work environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
