Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking a General Labourer for our Vanier site. You will be responsible for receiving, sorting and classifying metals, assisting with processing, and ensuring safe handling of materials.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will support daily operations and interact with customers as materials are received. This full-time role offers group insurance, RRSP with employer matching, safety boots, training, and development opportunities in a dynamic work environment.

Qualifications

• Comfortable with manual and physically demanding work.
• Able to work indoors and outdoors as needed.
• Responsible, punctual, resourceful and safety-conscious.
• Enjoy teamwork and collaboration with colleagues.
• Experience in an industrial environment (asset).
• Experience operating forklift or other equipment (asset).
• Knowledge of metal recycling and different types of metals (asset).

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, sort and classify different types of metals.
• Identify materials and direct them to appropriate areas based on type and quality.
• Participate in the processing and preparation of metals.
• Welcome customers and assist them when materials are received.
• Weigh materials and enter data into the RECY software.
• Operate various equipment, including forklifts, as required for operations.
• Perform daily opening and closing activities.
• Keep the work area clean and safe and perform other related duties.
