American Iron and Metal (AIM) in Montreal-East is seeking a General Labourer for metal receiving, sorting, classification, and shipping. You will contribute to smooth daily operations in a dynamic recycling yard and work in an environment that prioritizes health and safety.

The role is temporary full-time with a day shift (7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.). Ideal candidates enjoy hands-on work, teamwork, and can adapt to changing priorities while maintaining reliability.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial environment is preferred.
• Forklift experience is an asset; training provided on site.
• Strong teamwork and adaptability.

Responsibilities

• Sort and inspect metals based on characteristics.
• Identify metal types and assess quality.
• Weigh materials and prepare receiving/shipping tickets.
• Load, move, and organize materials.
• Operate various tools and equipment.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a General Labourer to join our team in Montreal-East.

We are looking for an individual who enjoys hands-on work and wants to grow in a dynamic environment within our recycling yard. The successful candidate will actively participate in the receiving, sorting, classification, and shipping of metals, while contributing to the smooth daily operations of the site.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys fieldwork, varied tasks, and teamwork. We are looking for a reliable, proactive individual who is comfortable working in an industrial environment where health and safety are a top priority.

What you will be responsible for :

• Sorting and inspecting metals based on their characteristics;
• Identifying different types of metals and assessing their quality;
• Weighing materials and preparing receiving and shipping tickets;
• Loading, moving, and organizing materials;
• Using various tools and equipment;
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in accordance with health and safety standards;
• Performing any other related tasks to support daily operations.
