Job summary

AIM Recycling, a leading Canadian metal recycler, is hiring a General Labourer for the Vanier site. You will join a team responsible for receiving, sorting and classifying metals, contributing to processing and safe handling of materials.

You will report to the Site Manager and play a key role in daily operations, including weighing materials, using RECY software, and assisting customers as materials are received. Training is provided and safety is a priority.

Qualifications

• Manual and physically demanding work required.
• Indoor and outdoor work as needed.
• Safety‑conscious, punctual and reliable.
• Team player with good collaboration.
• Experience in an industrial environment is a plus.
• Forklift experience is an asset.
• Knowledge of metal recycling is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, sort and classify metals.
• Identify materials and direct to correct areas by type and quality.
• Assist in processing and preparation of metals.
• Welcome customers and assist with material intake.
• Weigh materials and enter data into RECY software.
• Operate equipment including forklifts as required.
• Perform daily opening and closing activities.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area; perform other duties.

Job Description

We are looking for a General Labourer to join our team at our Vanier site.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will play an important role in our daily operations. You will be mainly responsible for receiving, sorting and classifying different types of metals, as well as participating in their processing and proper handling.

Your responsibilities :

• Receive, unload, sort and classify different types of metals;
• Identify materials and direct them to the appropriate areas based on their type and quality;
• Participate in the processing and preparation of metals;
• Welcome customers and assist them when materials are received;
• Weigh materials and enter data into the RECY software;
• Operate various equipment, including forklifts, as required for operations;
• Perform daily opening and closing activities;
• Keep the work area clean and safe and perform other related duties.

Qualifications
