Job summary

Bill Stewart’s Scrap Metal & Enviro Depot is seeking a general labourer for our New Glasgow area operations. The role focuses on loading and unloading materials, sorting items for shipping or storage, and supporting machine operators while maintaining a safe, organized workspace.

Candidates should be able to lift 50 lbs consistently, wear full PPE on shift, and work well in all weather conditions. This is a full-time, permanent position with benefits and safety-minded expectations.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of heavy lifting general labour an asset.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs consistently.
• Must be comfortable wearing full PPE while on shift.
• Safety driven mindset.
• Clear communication skills.
• Comfortable working in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic equipment
• Sort and prepare products for shipping or storage
• Assist machine operators and other production staff as needed.
• Accurately label and tag products
• Maintain a clean and tidy work area
• Upkeeping safety procedures
• Ensure deficiencies are noted and reported to management
• Other labor duties as necessary

We are currently seeking an energetic and safety minded general laborer to join our team based in New Glasgow.

• Load, unload, and move products and materials by hand or with basic equipment
