Job summary

SPX is hiring an Assembly Line General Labour in Smiths Falls, Ontario. You will work on the assembly line producing dampers and air control products, performing repetitive tasks, reading drawings, and ensuring correct parts are used for each step of the process.

The role requires a high school diploma, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and good verbal/written communication. Safety and 5S practices are emphasized, with opportunities to grow within a global manufacturing

Assembly Line General Labour positions are responsible for working on the assembly line and producing our product based on specifications and drawings. The general laborer will perform repetitive tasks throughout a variety of stations to ensure the completion of the product from start to finish.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a Safe work environment.
• Perform other labouring and elemental activities.
• Use of manual chop saw, various pneumatic tools, and hand tools to prepare and assemble the finished product.
• Repetitive movements – bending, twisting, lifting upto 50 lbs.
• Read production documents/drawings to ensure that parts are correctly chosen and applied to the assembly process.
• Attention to detail and comprehension of English language to interpret assembly information accurately.
• Operation of forklift and/or lift truck and electric pallet jack as required.
• Check the quality of the work performed.
• Ensure 5S is maintained at your workstation.
• Maintain a Safe work environment.
• Perform other labouring and elemental activities.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Minimum Education High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Previous work experience in a Manufacturing environment preferred.
• Work along side your team to lead by example.
• Ability to lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to follow basic directions.
