Job summary

Armstrong Fluid Technology is seeking a General Labourer to join our Scarborough facility, working 7:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday. You will assemble crates for pumps and motors, assist with loading shipments, and support production with safe, efficient material handling and waste removal.

Lifting up to 50 lbs, standing for shifts, and cranes/pallet trucks experience are preferred. The role offers potential overtime and weekend availability as needed to meet production schedules in a manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of standard measuring equipment (tape measures etc.).
  • Ability to read specific work instructions for a made-to-order product.
  • Must be able to stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience with overhead and jib cranes and material handling equipment such as pallet trucks.

Responsibilities

  • Operate compressors and small power tools (drills, band saws).
  • Bolt, screw, clip, or fasten parts using hand/power tools.
  • Maintain a safe, clean working environment with PPE and safety rules.
  • Support production by removing waste daily.
  • Assist machine operators and assemblers.
  • Record defects and report issues.
  • Clean work areas and equipment; complete tasks timely.

The General laboureris responsible for performing various tasks to aid daily operations at our industrial manufacturing facility. The primary duties include assembling and building crates for our assembled pumps and motors and prepare for outbound shipping. Other duties may include loading and unloading tools or raw materials and assembling scaffolding or other pieces of equipment.

This position is located in Scarborough, Ontario from 7:00am – 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, with potential overtime and weekend availability, as requested.

Responsibilities
  • Operating compressors and other small power equipment such as drills and band saws.
  • Bolt, screw, clip, or otherwise fasten parts and components together using hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety and housekeeping practices, and use of personal protective equipment.
  • Following all company policies as described in the employee handbook.
  • Support the production by removing waste as a daily routine.
  • Assist machine operators, assemblers and other workers.
  • Mark, record, and report defects.
  • Clean work areas and equipment.
  • Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
  • All other duties as may be assigned
What We're Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should bring:

  • Knowledge of standard measuring equipment (tape measures etc.).
  • Skill in reading specific work instructions for a made-to-order product.
  • The ability to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Capability to perform repetitive lifting/bending/stretching in a hot/humid/dusty environment.
  • Previous hands-on experience in using overhead and jib cranes as well as typical material handling equipment (e.g., pallet trucks).
  • Sense of urgency and capable of working in a time-sensitive environment
  • Team-oriented perspective, adaptability, and the capability of working independently

Range: CAD$18.50 - CAD$20.00
