Job summary

John Ross & Sons Ltd. is seeking energetic and safety-minded General Laborer to join our night shift team at our Goodwood, Nova Scotia location. This hands-on role involves sorting, organizing, and maintaining inventory while supporting safe and efficient operations.

The position offers full-time, permanent work with benefits and PPE. Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada and be able to lift 50 lbs and work in all weather.

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy labor or general labor is an asset.
• Able to lift 50 lbs consistently.
• Willing to wear full PPE during shifts.

John Ross & Sons Ltd. is a fifth generation, family owned, scrap metal recycler. The company is the largest metal recycler in Atlantic Canada and has been in operation for over 80 years. John Ross & Sons Ltd. specializes in purchasing and processing all ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals, along with accepting a wide range of recyclable material to process.

We are seeking energetic and safety-minded General Laborer to join our night shift team at our Goodwood, Nova Scotia location. This hands-on role involves sorting, organizing, and maintaining inventory while supporting safe and efficient operations.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Sort and handle various materials accurately and efficiently

• Maintain and organize inventory

• Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized

• Work effectively in both team-based and independent settings

• Perform duties in all weather conditions as required

Qualifications and Skills:

• Previous experience in heavy lifting general labor an asset

• Must be able to lift 50lbs consistently

• Must be comfortable wearing full PPE while on shift

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 4:30 PM - 3:00 AM and Saturdays as needed 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Location: Goodwood, Nova Scotia (reliable transportation required; not accessible by public transit)
