Job summary

Eurest in Saskatoon is seeking a General Help/Cashier to assist in preparing and distributing meals to service units at the Saskatoon Correctional Center. You will follow the prep schedule, wash, peel, cut produce, and help with cooking and tray assembly.

The role requires strong communication in English, a Grade 12 education, a clean criminal record, and Food Safe level 1 certification. You will also maintain hygiene, handle cash register operations, and support clean-up and food safety

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent education, training and experience.
• Must pass and maintain a clean criminal record.
• Food Safe level 1 certificate or provincial equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal in the English language.
• Physical ability to perform all job-related tasks.
• Ability to operate all related equipment.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, and organizational skills.
• Must practice good personal hygiene.
• Must be able to effectively give and receive instructions.

Responsibilities

• Wash, peel, and cut of fruits and vegetables per the preparation schedule.
• Prepare, cook or pan food as per prep schedule
• Count, weigh and measure ingredients for assigned food production area
• Store food in designated areas following wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures
• Portion meal trays and special diet trays as per meal schedule
• Load, deliver, collect and unload meal service carts to the pods
• Perform general cleaning duties including carts, trolleys, dishes and pots.
• Maintain storage areas in a clean and orderly manner
• Work efficiently and handle all equipment and products safely
• Cash register operations and meal ticket procedures.
• Perform other duties during off-service hours as required.
• Perform any reasonable request as assigned or directed by management in a suitable timeframe
