Job summary
TransAlta is seeking a Wind Technician, GE 1.5 SME for our Melancthon Wind Asset. This role provides technical expertise and hands-on support for the safe and reliable operation and maintenance of GE 1.5 wind turbines.
The role is based at the Melancthon site and is a full-time, safety-sensitive position with pre-employment testing. Working closely with wind technicians and site leadership, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve operational issues while supporting maintenance execution and
Qualifications
- Engineering degree or technical diploma in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy or related field.
- 7–10 years of wind turbine ops and maintenance experience.
- Trade certifications related to wind turbine tech are asset.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues on GE 1.5 wind turbines.
- Support preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance to improve turbine performance.
- Provide coaching and knowledge sharing to wind technicians.
- Maintain maintenance standards and troubleshoot procedures.
