Job summary

Cooper Equipment Rentals in Edmonton, AB is seeking a qualified Gasfitter to install, maintain, and service gas heating units and components on construction sites. You will test, adjust, and repair equipment, and respond to gas escape calls.

The role requires a valid Gasfitter (A or B) ticket or 2nd/3rd year apprenticeship, a clean Class 5 driver’s license, and picker truck experience. Overtime, tool allowance, and company benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with clean/satisfactory abstract.
• Picker truck experience required.
• Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, service and repair heating equipment.

Responsibilities

• Measure and mark reference points for installation of gas lines and equipment.
• Install, maintain and service gas construction heating units and components.
• Test and replace defective equipment or components; adjust controls and inspect piping for leaks.
• Attend to gas escape calls and prepare reports on work performed.
• Advise clients on standards, safety features and maintenance of gas units.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicles.

You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.Picker truck experience is required.Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, service and repair a variety of heating equipment in the shop or field.Experience with temporary construction heaters (direct and indirect fired, hydronic, electrical etc.) would be an asset.Knowledge of designing and installing temporary heating systems at construction sites using natural gas, propane and diesel equipment would be an asset.Knowledge of the safety regulations, codes and practices regarding LP/NG use, equipment servicing, permitting and installation at construction sites would be an asset.Ability to read/understand building and mechanical plans, job specifications and other technical documents would be an asset.Pride in what you do!Want to learn more about career opportunities at Cooper Equipment Rentals?
