Job summary

Finning International Inc. is hiring Gas Compression Field Technicians to support operations across Alberta and British Columbia.

You will troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar gas and diesel engines in both shop and field environments to keep customers’ equipment running at peak performance. Qualifications

  • Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification (Millwright and Automotive also accepted).
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record for field positions.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic.
  • Previous CAT general line experience including troubleshooting skills and knowledge of CAT engine and powertrain components.
  • 2 years experience on gas engines and compressors.
  • 2 years experience operating a service truck.
  • Completion, or in the process of completing Finning S-level courses.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic computer skills.

As our workload and service offerings continue to increase, you’ll play a key role in keeping our customers and their CATs running at their best.

Job Description

As a Gas Compression Tech, you’ll put your skills into action by partnering directly with customers to keep their operations running at peak performance. You’ll troubleshoot and oversee repairs on a wide range of Caterpillar gas and diesel engines—both in the shop and out in the field—leveraging your technical knowledge to build trust, solve challenges, and deliver the reliability our customers depend on.

Qualifications
  • Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification (Millwright and Automotive also accepted)

  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic
  • Previous CAT general line experience including troubleshooting skills and a good understanding of CAT engine and powertrain components

  • 2 years experience operating a service truck
  • Completion, or in the process of completing Finning S-level courses

Important Details
  • Various options of location and shifts (throughout Alberta and Northern BC)
  • Must be able and willing to travel to and from customer sites across our territory
  • Tooled company truck supplied, hotel & per diem or camp when travelling
  • A condition of employment may include the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
