Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic for our Calgary location. You will troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar and other equipment, using SIS and ET daily to document service work, warranties and crossovers.

The role involves interaction with customers and the Finning team, and requires collaboration with the Service Supervisor and Lead Hand on various tasks. The position offers a 7x7 continuous shift, unionized environment, and employer-paid medical benefits with additional training

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) certification is required.
• Two years of field truck experience is highly preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean recent abstract is required.
• Willingness to participate in and complete additional training.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar and other heavy equipment.
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily.
• Complete service reports, warranty, and crossover notes.
• Interact with customers, sales support and Finning team.
• Collaborate with Service Supervisor and Lead Hand on assigned tasks.

Job Description:

• Troubleshooting and repairing Caterpillar and other mechanical equipment

• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)
• Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
• Work with the Service Supervisor and Lead Hand on various tasks as required

Qualifications:

• Dual Tickets will be an asset
• Field truck experience - two years minimum
• Valid driver's license with a successful recent driver abstract
• Previous Caterpillar experience is an asset
• Willingness to participate and complete additional training
• Self-motivated, computer literate, and safety orientated with the ability to work under minimal supervision
