Job summary

West Kelowna City is seeking two Facilities Operator I (term/part time) to support the Facilities Department during home games of the West Kelowna Warriors from September to March/April. Shifts are typically 10 to 20 hours weekly.

The ideal candidate has custodial certification or equivalent, at least 3 months related experience, and the ability to obtain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector; WHMIS 2015 and a Class 5 BC license are required, with First Aid preferred.

Qualifications

• Custodial certification or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 months of related experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector.
• WHMIS 2015.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License.
• Basic First Aid (preferred).
• Demonstrated computer skills in Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of fire alarms, fire extinguishers, firefighting methods, first aid, emergency crowd control, and building evacuation.
• Knowledge of WHMIS, janitorial practices, including safe and proper handling of waxes, cleaners and other chemicals used.
• Ability to exercise courtesy, tact and diplomacy in exchange of routine information with members of the public.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including shift work.
• Must be able to work efficiently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• The Facilities Department has openings for two (2) Facilities Operator I (term/part time) positions.
• Roles will primarily involve working during the home games of the West Kelowna Warriors, which run from early September through to approximately March or April.
• Shifts will typically range from 10 to 20 hours per week, depending on the home game schedule.
