Job summary

The Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre (DEWC) seeks a Fundraising Assistant to join the Fund Development Team in Vancouver. The role involves planning fundraising campaigns, developing grant applications, creating documents, sourcing tools, supporting third-party fundraisers, and maintaining the CRM database, along with other administrative duties.

Qualifications

  • You have 2 years related experience.
  • You are knowledgeable of the issues impacting women in the DTES, including gender-based violence, mental health, homelessness, and addictions with an understanding of trauma-informed care responses.
  • You are able to promote and articulate DEWC’s mission, mandate, philosophy, and values.
  • You have the ability to both work and support staff in a busy, crises-driven environment with multiple demands and priorities.
  • You have efficient organizational and administrative skills including record keeping, scheduling, and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Plan fundraising campaigns and other events in collaboration with the Fund Development Team.
  • Develop grant applications and create supporting documents.
  • Source new tools and techniques to enhance fundraising efforts.
  • Support third-party fundraisers and solicit new stakeholders.
  • Maintain the CRM database and perform related administrative work.

The Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre (DEWC) exists to support and empower women and children, living in extreme poverty in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, who are particularly vulnerable to violence, exploitation, injustice and injury. Through low barrier Drop-In Centres and Emergency Shelters, DEWC provides basic need services, programs, and specialized supports to over 1000 women and children daily to help them survive the conditions that surround them. The Opportunity

The Fundraising Assistant will work in collaboration with the Fund Development Team to carry out DEWC’s fundraising strategy. Reporting to the Fund Development Team, she will help to plan fundraising campaigns and other events, develop grant applications, create documents, source new tools and techniques, support third-party fundraisers, solicit new stakeholders, maintain the CRM database, and other administrative work as necessary.

About You

POSITION DETAILS:

Excluded position: $31.69 - $34.97 per hour based on experience
