The Downtown Eastside Women's Centre (DEWC) is seeking a Housing Outreach Worker to provide outreach services to women living in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside, helping them establish and maintain safe housing from a feminist, anti-oppression perspective.
Reporting to the Specialized Services Manager, this role requires 2+ years of experience with marginalized women, trauma-informed practice, strong organizational skills, and the ability to coordinate assisted referrals.
The Downtown Eastside Women's Centre (DEWC) exists to support and empower women and children, living in extreme poverty in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, who are particularly vulnerable to violence, exploitation, injustice and injury. Through low barrier Drop-In Centers and Emergency Shelters, DEWC provides basic need services, programs, and specialized supports to over 1000 women and children daily to help them survive the conditions that surround them. Reporting directly to the Specialized Services Manager, the Housing Outreach Worker will provide outreach services to women who live in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, supporting them in establishing and maintaining appropriate safe housing. She will work from a feminist perspective and within an anti-oppression framework.
