Downtown Eastside Women's Centre in Vancouver is seeking an Accounting & Payroll Specialist to maintain accurate financial records and support reporting. You will handle day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciliations, and process improvements, collaborating with the Director and Manager of Finance.
A feminist, anti-oppression perspective guides the role. 2+ years of experience in nonprofit accounting and payroll, a relevant diploma/degree, and strong communication skills are required.
Salary Range: $70,967.00 To $79,155.50 Annually
The Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre (DEWC) exists to support and empower women and children, living in extreme poverty in the Downtown Eastside of Vancouver, who are particularly vulnerable to violence, exploitation, injustice, and injury. Through low barrier Drop-In Centers and Emergency Shelters, DEWC provides basic need services, programs, and specialized supports to over 1000 women and children daily to help them survive the conditions that surround them. The Accounting & Payroll Specialist works closely with the Director, Finance and the Manager, Finance as well as other department managers, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of DEWC accounting and financial systems and processes. This role is responsible for completing day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities, account reconciliations, reporting, and process improvement. Reporting to the Manager, Finance, the Accounting & Payroll Specialist will work in collaboration with other DEWC staff to support smooth and accurate operations. She will work from a feminist perspective and with an anti-oppression framework.
