Job summary

Prairie Valley School Division is hiring a full-time Caretaker for Emerald Ridge Elementary School in White City. The role ensures a safe, clean environment for students and staff, overseeing daily building operations and collaborating with facilities teams.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Interest in WHMIS training.
• Fireman's Certificate preferred.
• Minimum 3 years caretaking experience.
• Knowledge to monitor and reset boiler/HVAC systems.
• Ability to operate floor cleaning, stripping and waxing equipment.
• Ability to perform basic building maintenance and repair.
• Ability to manage confidential material and privacy.

Responsibilities

• Proactively complete cleaning, maintenance and grounds routines as described.
• Check HVAC equipment, Life Safety Systems, facilities and equipment with documentation.
• Support school events with staff and administrators.
• Maintain supplies of cleaning and paper products.
• Carry out daily security duties and respond to alarms.
• Perform minor maintenance and coordinate with technicians.
• Assist in improving building operational efficiency (power, energy, water).
• Perform other duties as assigned by administrators.
