Job summary

Paladin Security is hiring a Full-Time Healthcare Security Guard at Lennox & Addington County General Hospital. The role features continental day shifts from 07:00 to 19:00, with a pay rate of $19.00/hour.

Applicants must have healthcare security experience, valid First Aid & CPR Level C, and be legally eligible to work in Canada. Training and development opportunities are offered along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience required.
• Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C from WSIB-approved source.
• Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination.
• Immunization records (MMR, Varicella, TB) and related tests.
• Ability to sit/stand for up to 12 hours per shift.
• Able to work independently and stay self-motivated.
• Fluency in English (oral and written).
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills.
• Certification in Use of Force (UoF) and MOAB preferred or on ramp.
• Canadian work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Proactive and reactive patrols of main site and outlying facilities.
• Respond to incidents and intervene as needed.
• De-escalate potential conflicts.
• Investigate routine incidents and document findings.
• Enforce parking rules and by-laws on site.
• Promote and enforce Paladin policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Site Description: The Lennox and Addington County General Hospital’s emphasis on general medicine and general surgery reflects its role in providing core services. Specialists from Kingston regularly hold clinics at the hospital. The range and scope of those clinics continue to expand as the hospital grows.Emergency services, operating 24 hours a day, see in excess of 26,000 patientsper year.

Position: Full-Time Healthcare Security Guard - Lennox & Addington County General Hospital

Schedule: Continental Days Only, 0700-1900

Payrate: $19.00/hour

Job Description:

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months healthcare security experience required
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved source)
• Proof of (minimum) double COVID-19 vaccination
• A copy of your immunization records (Measles, Mumps, Rubella [MMR], Varicella, and TB Skin Tests - Step 1 & 2)
• Ability to complete extensive patrols, to sit/stand for up to 12 hours per shift
• Ability to work alone and self-motivated
• Fluency in English (oral and written)
• Excellent communication and de-escalation skills is required
• Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UoF) and Management of Aggressive Behaviour (MOAB)
• Applicants lacking these certifications can opt into Paladin's UoF/MOAB training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
• Please be aware: The UoF/MOAB training is not paid as it is a pre-requisite, however Paladin will cover all of the costs of the training with a 6 month commitment to the position/availability
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
