Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in East Gwillimbury, Ontario is hiring a full-time Dishwasher to support a busy kitchen. The role involves loading, operating and emptying dishwashers, maintaining a clean cooking area and ensuring proper food handling.

You will participate in trainings and contribute to quality improvement while respecting resident rights. The position requires empathy for the elderly, ability to follow food safety procedures, and a current Vulnerable Sector Check or willingness to obtain

Qualifications

• Must have empathy for and ability to get along with the elderly and the handicapped
• Ability to understand and follow proper food handling and storage procedures
• Ability to understand and follow directions to serve the food correctly and attractively according to portion control
• Must provide a complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Load, operate and empty dishwashers and put dishes away
• Maintain a clean cooking area including surfaces, stoves, ovens, grills, and storage areas
• Damp mop floors and clean other kitchen equipment
• Attend in-service training and staff meetings as required
• Support Quality Improvement Program and uphold organizational values
