Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Toronto, Ontario is hiring a Dishwasher to support the culinary team. The role focuses on loading, operating and emptying the dishwasher and keeping kitchen surfaces clean and functional. This position requires reliability and attention to cleanliness in a senior living environment.

Candidates must be able to read and write English, follow food-handling procedures and be prepared to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check. Weekend availability and on-call shifts are required.

Qualifications

• Must have empathy for the elderly and be able to get along with residents.
• Ability to understand and follow proper food handling and storage procedures.
• Ability to understand and follow directions to serve food correctly according to portion control.
• Ability to work accurately and quickly.
• Able to read and write English.
• Must provide a complete Vulnerable Sector Check within six months or be willing to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• To load, operate and empty dishwashers, putting the dishes away.
• To maintain a clean cooking area, including work table surfaces, stoves, ovens, grills, food storage room and exhaust hood, etc.
• To damp mop floors.
• To clean other kitchen equipment such as blenders, refrigerators, dishwashers, etc.
• To perform all duties with cleanliness in mind.
• To attend in-service training as required to better serve the dietary needs of the residents.
• To complete other duties as assigned.
