Job summary

Cogir Senior Living in Ontario is seeking a Dishwasher to join our kitchen team. You will load, operate and empty the dishwasher and help keep all surfaces clean and sanitary for residents. This role requires empathy for the elderly, ability to read English, and adherence to food-handling procedures.

Qualifications

• Empathy for elderly and ability to work with residents and handicapped individuals.
• Ability to follow proper food handling and storage procedures.
• Ability to serve food accurately with appropriate portion control.
• Demonstrated accuracy and speed in tasks.
• Able to read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Load, operate and empty dishwashers and put dishes away.
• Maintain a clean cooking area including surfaces, stoves, ovens, grills and storage areas.
• Damp mop floors and keep kitchen equipment clean (blenders, refrigerators, etc.).
• Perform duties with cleanliness in mind and respect Resident Rights & Responsibilities.
• Attend in-service training and staff meetings; participate in Quality Improvement.
• Work in a position of trust with residents and uphold organizational values.
