Job summary

Calgary Co-op is seeking a Customer Service Cashier to ensure excellent customer service while maintaining a safe, efficient operation. You will report to the Customer Service Supervisor/Front End Manager and perform front-end duties, stocking, price integrity, and office cashier tasks.

The role requires Grade 9 or equivalent, related retail experience, and strong English communication. Opportunities include growth, benefits, and a team-oriented environment at Calgary Co-op locations.

Qualifications

• Grade 9 or acceptable combination of education and experience.
• Related retail experience, including the provision of customer service.
• Previous cash handling, banking or related retail experience.
• Must be fluent in English.
• Basic Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Previous retail cashier experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service and maintains positive customer relations through proper handling of customer merchandise, questions, comments, requests, and complaints.
• Performs stocking and display tasks; maintain stock levels around candy/magazine racks and Front End displays.
• Handles merchandise to ensure quality, minimizes damages, markdowns and maintains price integrity including price changes.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and back stock area; dispose of debris.
• Adheres to Occupational Health and Safety, Food Safety and Environmental regulations.
• Operates Customer Service Office functions and cash handling; supports opening/closing duties.
