Job summary

Sobeys is seeking an Assistant Front End Manager to support the Front-End Manager in operating the department with a focus on customer service, safety and profitability. You will coach staff, manage schedules, and help control budgets while ensuring stock and presentation meet company standards.

The role emphasizes leadership, communication, and hands-on involvement in daily front-end operations to drive a positive shopping experience for customers and engagement among teammates.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 12 months of retail store experience.
• Exposure to reading and analyzing financial reports and budgets.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Above average oral and written communication skills.
• Good work ethic and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Coach and develop staff across the front-end team.
• Lead, manage, coach, motivate and train staff to deliver customer service.
• Assist in scheduling, labour cost management, budgets and inventory control.
• Maintain adherence to Food Safety Protocols and SOPs.
• Foster customer loyalty and employee engagement.
• Lead merchandising, presentation and stock in line with standards.
• Communicate operational requirements to department staff.
• Support in achieving financial targets and margins, including forecasting and variance analysis.
• Ensure OH&S and regulatory requirements are implemented.
