Job summary

Sobeys is seeking a front-end supervisor at our Victoria location to deliver exceptional customer service and support the front-end manager in cash handling and store operations.

You will ensure policies are followed, assist with team guidance, and contribute to a strong, collaborative team culture while maintaining safe, efficient store procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma is a valuable asset.
• Six months of cashier experience or more.
• Experience with POS systems.
• Customer service oriented and team spirited.
• Flexible work hours and overtime ability.
• Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20kg.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer service is exceptional.
• Apply policies, health guidelines, and safety standards; ensure adherence by all staff.
• Act as a resource for team members.
• Foster a trustworthy, communicative work environment.
• Perform cash register accounting tasks in collaboration with the front-end manager.

The front-end supervisor is required to deliver exceptional customer service at all times.

In the absence of the front-end manager, they are responsible for resolving cash register issues and securing the cash registers in the safe.

Here’s Where You’ll Be Focusing

• Ensure that customer service is exceptional.
• Apply policies and procedures, comply with government health guidelines and occupational health and safety standards, and ensure they are consistently applied and adhered to by all department employees.
• Act as a resource person for team members.
• Create a work environment that promotes trust and communication within your team.
• Perform various cash register accounting operations (money transfers, deposits, checks, weekly audits, etc.) in collaboration with the front-end manager.
• Perform any other related duties.

What You Have To Offer

• A high school diploma is a valuable asset.
• You have at least six months of experience as a cashier.
• You have valuable management experience and knowledge of point-of-sale computer systems.
• You are customer service-oriented.

• You are proficient with basic accounting operations.

• Short-term exposure to chemicals and cleaning products
