French Teacher/Tutor – Part‑time position at Oxford Learning Montreal DDO. Passionate teacher‑tutor needed to support children’s French education outside the classroom.
Responsibilities
- Teach 1–3 students in small group sessions, using the provided curriculum and lessons.
- Conduct classes in French; no lesson planning required.
- Assist students in improving spoken and written French and academic study skills.
- Maintain accurate post‑lesson notes and daily student communication updates.
- Follow Oxford Learning’s teaching methods and philosophies.
- Provide a friendly and professional learning environment at all times.
Qualifications
- CEGEP, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent certification in a relevant field.
- Teaching certification is an asset.
- Strong command of spoken and written French and English.
- Experience teaching/tutoring French at Grade 9–11 (or equivalent) level.
- Ability to guide students’ understanding and manage up to three students simultaneously.
- Strong English communication skills (oral and written).
- Valid on‑site work authorization in Canada and ability to commute to the DDO office.
- Availability for after‑school/evening hours (3:30 pm‑8:00 pm, Monday‑Thursday) and Saturdays (9:00 am‑1:00 pm).
- Must pass vulnerable‑sector screening.
Schedule & Compensation
- Evenings: 3:30 pm–8:00 pm, Monday–Thursday.
- Saturday availability: 9:00 am–1:00 pm.
- Hourly rate: $16.60–$17.50 per hour.
Location
3701 boul. St. Jean, Suite B, Blue Haven Shopping Village, Dollard‑des‑Ormeaux, QC. Applicants must reside in or near the DDO area (short commute). This is an in‑person position; no relocation package is available.
