Job summary

Visit.org is seeking an experienced Freelance Event Specialist for in-person events in Toronto, Canada. The role requires being based in the city, coordinating logistics, and serving as the day‑of on‑site hands on the ground to deliver engaging team-building experiences for social impact.

You will join planning meetings, manage setup and teardown, handle check-in, and troubleshoot issues on site. The position is contract per event with flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and offers

Qualifications

• Experience in complex, large-scale events and smaller executive-level intimate events.
• Fluent English and strong communication skills.
• Based in Toronto, Canada.
• Contract per-event basis with flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
• Willingness to travel within the local region.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all event details, ship materials, and arrange staffing for each event; be the onsite hands on the ground.
• Join virtual planning meetings with partners and Visit.org coordinators before events.
• Be on-site to set up, manage the on-site team, tear down, and ensure high-quality customer experience.
• Serve as the Visit.org representative, leader, and problem solver at events.
• Manage check-in and provide a warm welcome to guests.
• Troubleshoot issues and escalate to the Events Team when necessary.
• Send updates, photos, and videos to the Events Team during events.
• Break down after the event and repack/ship materials.
