Job summary

Interfor Corporation is seeking a Woodlands Supervisor to oversee road construction, maintenance, harvesting and log hauling for our Timmins sawmill operations. You will plan short- and long-term operations and supervise a team of contractors in a safe, efficient and cost‑effective manner.

The ideal candidate has a university degree or college diploma in forestry or business, 5+ years in forest operations planning and costing, and strong GIS/office software skills.

Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma in forestry or business, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years in forest operations planning and project costing.
• Familiar with OH&S Act Regulations and forestry laws and policies.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; bilingual is an asset.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational and leadership abilities.
• Proficient MS Word, Excel and Access; GIS software experience required.
• Outdoor/field work in varying weather conditions; willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Supervise forest operations planning, road construction and log hauling for the Timmins sawmill.
• Prepare short- and long-term operational plans with full resource utilization.
• Oversee and coach contractors; monitor safety and costs weekly.
• Ensure compliance with Annual Fire Plan and Work Schedules.
• Coordinate cut blocks, mapping, and contractor scheduling.
• Report on costs and production; liaise with regulatory authorities.
