Job summary

Domtar Corporation in Thunder Bay, Ontario, seeks an Operations Forester for Ontario Woodlands – Remote Operations 1. This full-time, camp-based field role supports harvesting, road construction, and AWS planning with overnight camp accommodations.

You will collaborate with contractors and staff to maximize efficiency, ensure safety and regulatory compliance, manage budgets, and provide vacation relief for the Operations Superintendent as needed.

Qualifications

• Bilingual in English and French required for daily coordination with Quebec contractors.
• 3–5 years of proven operational harvesting and road-building experience.
• Forestry degree with professional designation or Forestry Technology with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead field operations and liaise with contractors to maximize efficiency and control costs.
• Ensure AWS submission information is obtained and used for planning.
• Monitor safety, environmental standards, and compliance with government rules.
• Develop and manage budgets and contribute to FMP and AWS plans.
• Provide vacation relief for Operations Superintendent as needed.
