Job summary

MDD, A Davies Company, a specialized forensic accounting firm, seeks a Manager to lead forensic accounting assignments in Kingston/Ottawa. Responsibilities include supervising staff, client meetings, and developing expertise in insurance claims and litigation support.

Ideal candidates hold CPA with 5+ years of relevant experience, and may pursue CBV/CFF/CFE or related designations. Hybrid work model with travel as needed; strong analytical, communication and leadership skills required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• CPA designation required.
• Additional designation or working towards (CBV, CFF, CFE etc.).
• Minimum 5 years relevant work experience.
• Experience in measurement of commercial insurance claims, including business interruption.
• Experience in other litigation support matters, personal injury claims and/or accident benefits claims would be a benefit.
• Demonstrated ability to manage staff.
• Well-developed analytical, writing and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
• Motivated to exceed client expectations and develop leadership skills.
• Appreciation for working consultatively and collaboratively with colleagues throughout the firm.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook and MS Teams.
• Additional language skills considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• The management and completion of assignments
• Working closely with clients; attending meetings and communicating the results of your analysis
• Developing and maintaining their own technical expertise related to specific engagements
• Assisting other offices with workload and technical matters
• Supervising and teaching junior level accountants
• Participating in new business development and maintaining current clients
• There may be some expectation of travel with this position, depending on the nature of the assignments
