Job summary

GDI Ainsworth is seeking an experienced Construction and Plumbing Foreman to lead on-site plumbing teams across commercial and project-based mechanical operations. You will supervise crews, interpret drawings, and ensure installations meet code, safety, and schedule requirements on both local and remote northern projects.

The role requires Red Seal Plumbing/Steamfitting, 2+ years in foreman or supervisory roles, and the ability to mentor journeypersons and apprentices while coordinating with

Qualifications

  • Red Seal certification in Plumbing or Steam Fitting or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a Foreman or supervisory role.
  • Proven experience managing prime contractor projects with multiple trades.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise plumbing crews on-site, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project schedules.
  • Interpret and work from mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Install, repair, and maintain water supply lines, drainage systems, plumbing fixtures, and associated mechanical equipment.
  • Perform hydronic system retrofits (boilers, pumps), chiller and heat pump replacements, and air handler installations.
  • Size and install natural gas distribution systems per code.
  • Coordinate work with subcontractors, consultants, and other trades.
  • Enforce and maintain safety protocols and company policies.
  • Maintain a high standard of customer service and professionalism at all times.

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking experienced C onstruction and Plumbing Foremen to support our commercial and project-based mechanical operations. This role involves leadership on job sites, overseeing plumbing installations and retrofits, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Work can include leading teams in remote northern projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and supervise plumbing crews on-site, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project schedules.
  • Interpret and work from mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Install, repair, and maintain water supply lines, drainage systems, plumbing fixtures, and associated mechanical equipment.

The pay range is $55 to $62 per hour. The compensation for this position is as per the collective agreement.
