Job summary

GDI Ainsworth in Ottawa, Ontario is seeking experienced Construction and Plumbing Foremen to support our commercial and project-based mechanical operations. This role involves leadership on job sites, overseeing plumbing installations and retrofits, and ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently.

You will interpret mechanical drawings, coordinate with subcontractors and trades, and mentor journeypersons and apprentices while upholding codes and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Certification in Plumbing or Steam fitting.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Foreman or supervisory role.
• Proven experience managing prime contractor projects and working with multiple trades.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, industry standards, and local codes.
• Valid AB Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Ability to manage and mentor journeypersons and apprentices.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy materials and equipment as required.
• Comfortable working independently or as part of a team.
• Willing to work shifts in remote locations.

Responsibilities

• Size and install natural gas distribution systems per code.
• Coordinate work with subcontractors, consultants, and other trades.
• Enforce and maintain safety protocols and company policies.
• Maintain a high standard of customer service and professionalism at all times.

The pay range is $55 to $62 per hour. The compensation for this position is as per the collective agreement.
