Job summary

GDI Ainsworth is seeking an experienced Plumbing Foreman to support our commercial and project-based mechanical operations. You will lead on job sites, oversee plumbing installations, ensure safety and efficiency, and coordinate with subcontractors and trades.

The role requires a Red Seal in Plumbing or Steamfitting, 2 years of supervisory experience, and a valid AB Driver’s License. Willingness to work on remote northern projects and travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Red Seal Certification in Plumbing or Steamfitting.
• 2 years of Foreman or supervisory experience.
• Experience managing prime contractor projects and working with multiple trades.
• Valid AB Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise plumbing crews on-site, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to project schedules.
• Interpret and work from mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
• Install, repair, and maintain water supply lines, drainage systems, plumbing fixtures, and associated mechanical equipment.
• Perform hydronic system retrofits (boilers, pumps), chiller and heat pump replacements, and air handler installations.
• Size and install natural gas distribution systems per code.
• Coordinate work with subcontractors, consultants, and other trades.
• Enforce and maintain safety protocols and company policies.
• Maintain a high standard of customer service and professionalism at all times.

Job Summary

This role involves leadership on job sites, overseeing plumbing installations and retrofits, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable codes and standards. Work can include leading teams in remote northern projects.
