Job summary

Linxus Group in Kelowna, BC is seeking an experienced Carpentry Foreman to lead our team on multi-family residential, low and mid-rise and mixed-use construction projects. You will supervise on-site crews, ensure work adheres to plans, and uphold safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in carpentry, strong leadership, proficiency with blueprints, and a track record of delivering projects on time.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in carpentry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
  • Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Extensive knowledge of construction methods, materials, and carpentry tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, manage multiple tasks effectively, and handle complex projects with attention to detail.
  • Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and best practices in construction.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with the capability to interact effectively with team members, clients, and project stakeholders.
  • Relevant certifications and training in carpentry and construction safety (e.g., OSHA, First Aid) are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of carpenters and construction personnel on-site, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and according to project schedules.
  • Oversee the construction of carpentry components, including framing, sheathing, and finishing, ensuring all work meets architectural plans and specifications.
  • Regularly inspect work to ensure it meets quality standards and adheres to project requirements. Address any issues or discrepancies promptly.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Conduct safety meetings and ensure compliance with local regulations.
  • Efficiently manage materials, tools, and equipment. Monitor inventory levels, order additional supplies as needed, and ensure proper use and maintenance of resources.
  • Act as the primary liaison between the construction team, project managers, and clients. Provide regular updates on project progress, address any concerns, and facilitate clear communication.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise on-site, including those related to work quality, safety, and project timelines.
  • Mentor and train carpenters and other team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and skill development.
