Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Field Foreman for our Val-d'Or Construction & Forestry location. You will coordinate workload, direct service technicians, and advise on skills and training needs to maximize efficiency and productivity.

The role requires 3–5 years’ experience as a heavy-duty technician or related leadership in a field service team, with strong communication and organizational abilities. Competitive benefits and growth opportunities offered.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with MS Office and standard desktop tools required.
  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician background preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose machine problems with technicians and apprentices.
  • Inspect and approve tooling and equipment.

Description

Brandt is currently seeking a Field Foreman for our Val d'Or Construction & Forestry location.

This position is responsible for assisting with coordinating and directing the workload of the Service Department for maximum efficiency and productivity while providing quality repair work; advise and make recommendations to the Service Manager regarding technician skills and training needs.

What You Will Be Responsible For
  • Assists with the assignment of jobs and work areas to Service Department employees according to their skills and knowledge
  • Assists in the appraisal of repair orders coming into the Service Department and may participate in repairs; may review repair orders for accuracy and completeness
  • Directs and assists in the diagnosis of machine problems of technicians and apprentices
  • Inspects and repairs all special tools; recommends new tooling as required
  • Advises Service Manager of all customer complaints
  • Establish and maintain on-call field schedule
  • Coordinates and schedules in-house technician training
  • Assists the Service Manager with coordinating and conducting quarterly safety meetings
  • May arrange for and participate in re-conditioning of used equipment and set-up of new equipment
  • May approve the release of equipment for delivery to the customer
  • Opening and closing work orders, preparing work orders for warranty
  • May assist in providing performance feedback for service technicians and staff to the Service
  • Other duties as assigned
What We Look For
  • Must possess excellent communication/organizational skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other standard desktop functions
  • Ability to lead others
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as a Heavy Duty Service Technician required
  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician preferred
  • Familiar with John Deere and competitive products
