Job summary

Forecast Coffee in Whistler is hiring a food-focused barista with kitchen experience to join our Function Junction cafe. The role starts in the kitchen with potential cross-training into coffee, counter service, and beverage operations. Expect mornings and afternoons, a fast-paced team, and a supportive community environment.

Starting wage is 18.70 CAD/hour with weekly tips. Full-time and part-time shifts available; staff meals and discounts at Forecast locations are included.

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience preferred.
• Cook/food preparation experience helpful.
• Serving It Right required, Food Safe an asset.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming, safe environment for staff and customers.
• Open/close cafe following procedures; ensure security after hours.
• Handle till counts accurately and manage change float.
• Prepare and serve coffee, food and drinks; clear tables and wash dishes.
• Cross-train in coffee; participate in barista, counter-service, food prep, beer and liquor service.

Forecast Coffee is hiring for our Function Junction location.

We are looking for wonderful staff to join our team. Serving food, coffee, and beer with an extended menu, we are looking for a food focused barista to join our team. This role would be ideal for a candidate with previous cooking experience who wants to expand to working FOH roles.

There is also the option to grow or be hired as a Food supervisor for the right candidate.

The Role:

• Creating a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for staff and customers
• Open and close the cafe following all open/close procedures
• Ensure cafe is secure before leaving at end of day
• Cash handling- ensure accurate till counts (open & close) and change float.
• Preparing and serving coffee, food and drinks, clearing tables, washing dishes – getting dirty and leading by example by maintaining a high standard of food and beverage preparation.
• include barista, counter-service, food preparation, beer and liquor service

This role will primarily be kitchen focussed to start, with the opportunity to cross train in coffee.
