Job summary

Aramark is seeking a motivated Food Services Worker to join the Dal Food Services team at Dalhousie University. You will help maintain cleanliness, assist with food prep at your station, and support daily service and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Previous food service experience is an asset.
• WHMIS and Food Safe (Basic or Advanced), First Aid Certification is an asset.
• Knowledge of and commitment to upholding high standards of food safety and hygiene.
• Additional certification may be required by work location.
• Ability to work effectively under supervision or independently.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a desire to provide outstanding customer service.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team to ensure smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Assures quality, courteous customer service to all customers.
• Light cash handling duties including processing customer transactions and balancing float.
• Educate customers on menu items, daily features, and dining hall events.
• Maintains continual cleaning and sanitizing of surrounding work area.
• Food preparation in accordance with menu at assigned station.
• Stock and merchandise shelves, cereal/bread bar, salad bar, and coolers.
• May wash and sanitize dishes and utensils.
• Record temperatures, label products in FIFO, complete waste and cleaning logs.
• Adhere to all Aramark and Dalhousie University policies and procedures.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
