Job summary

GEF Seniors Housing in Edmonton is seeking a part-time night cook to join our kitchen team at Ottewell Manor. Schedule is 11:30 PM to 7:30 AM, 15 hours per week on a 3-week rotating cycle.

Responsibilities include food preparation, cooking, baking, portioning and labeling meals, cleaning, and assisting with meal service while maintaining sanitary standards. Experience in food prep or serving is valued, training provided.

Qualifications

• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience in food preparation and baking is an asset.
• Experience as a server in a dining room is preferred.

• Food preparation, cooking, baking, and labeling of meals.
• Clean kitchen areas and equipment, dishwashing, and stock meals.
• Assist with meal services and beverage service to residents.
• Follow standard recipes and maintain sanitary practices.

Details:

Part Time, Nights, 15 hours per week, 11:30PM to 7:30AM, 3-week rotating schedule

Schedule:

• Week 1: Saturday, Sunday
• Week 2: Friday, Wednesday
• Week 3: Monday, Tuesday

Pay Scale:

$19.05 - $23.10 per hour

Location:

Ottewell Manor, 6675 – 92 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB, T6B 0S3

Typical Duties:

Food preparation, cooking, baking, portioning and labeling food, cleaning kitchen areas and equipment, dishwashing, preparing meals, beverages, sandwiches, salads and snacks, peeling and chopping vegetables, assisting with meal services and beverages, and other site-specific duties as assigned.

Experience/Education Preferences:

• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal are required
• Experience in food preparation and baking is an asset
• Experience as a server in a dining room is preferred

Other Requirements:

• Strong customer service skills, including the ability to interact with everyone in a respectful manner
• Ability to read and follow standard recipes and work in a sanitary manner
• Ability to demonstrate responsible judgement in problem solving
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
