Job summary

GEF Seniors Housing is seeking a part-time role at Rosslyn Place Lodge in Edmonton. You will work 11:00 AM–7:00 PM on a 3‑week rotating schedule, totaling about 25 hours per week, performing food prep, cooking, and kitchen duties.

Ideal candidates will have strong English communication, experience in food preparation or serving in a dining room, and a focus on safety and customer service in a care-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
• Experience in food preparation and baking is an asset.
• Experience as a server in a dining room is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation, cooking, baking, portioning and labeling food, cleaning kitchen areas and equipment, dishwashing, preparing meals, beverages, sandwiches, salads and snacks, peeling and chopping vegetables, assisting with meal services and beverages, and other site-specific duties as assigned.

Details: Part time, Days, 25 hours per week, 11AM to 7PM, 3-week rotating schedule

Schedule

Week 1: Friday, Wednesday, Thursday

Week 2: Friday,Saturday, Thursdayday

Week 3: Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Thursday

Pay Scale: $19.62 - $23.79 per hour

Location: Rosslyn Place Lodge, 10915 - 134 Avenue, Edmonton, AB, T5E 1G4

Typical Duties: Food preparation, cooking, baking, portioning and labeling food, cleaning kitchen areas and equipment, dishwashing, preparing meals, beverages, sandwiches, salads and snacks, peeling and chopping vegetables, assisting with meal services and beverages, and other site-specific duties as assigned.

Experience/Education Preferences

• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal are required
• Experience in food preparation and baking is an asset
• Experience as a server in a dining room is preferred

Other Requirements

• Strong customer service skills, including the ability to interact with everyone in a respectful manner
• Ability to read and follow standard recipes and work in a sanitary manner
• Ability to demonstrate responsible judgement in problem solving
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
