Job summary

GEF Seniors Housing is seeking a part-time Food Service worker for Kiwanis Place Lodge in Edmonton. The role runs 30 hours per week on a 6AM–2PM schedule with a 3-week rotating pattern, offering a starting hourly pay of CAD 19.62–23.79.

Duties include food prep, cooking, serving meals and beverages, maintaining kitchen hygiene, and supporting daily operations. Ideal candidates will have strong English communication, experience in food prep or baking, and a preference for serving in a dining

• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal are required.
• Experience in food preparation and baking is an asset.
• Experience as a server in a dining room is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation, cooking, baking, portioning and labeling food, cleaning kitchen areas and equipment, dishwashing, preparing meals, beverages, sandwiches, salads and snacks, peeling and chopping vegetables, assisting with meal services and beverages, and other site-specific duties as assigned.

Details: Part time, Days, 30 hours per week, 6AM to 2PM, 3-week rotating schedule

Schedule:

Week 1 : Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Thursday

Week 2 : Friday, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday

Week 3 : Friday, Saturday, Sunday, Tuesday

Pay Scale: $19.62 - $23.79 per hour

Location: Kiwanis Place Lodge, 10330-120 Street, Edmonton AB, T5K 2A6

Typical Duties:Food preparation, cooking, baking, portioning and labeling food, cleaning kitchen areas and equipment, dishwashing, preparing meals, beverages, sandwiches, salads and snacks, peeling and chopping vegetables, assisting with meal services and beverages, and other site-specific duties as assigned.

Experience/Education Preferences:

• Strong customer service skills, including the ability to interact with everyone in a respectful manner
• Ability to read and follow standard recipes and work in a sanitary manner
