Job summary

Compass Group Canada (Beaver) Ltd. is seeking a Food Service Worker to prepare, serve and present meals with attention to quality and presentation. You will handle prep work, store food safely, and assist customers in retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.

Applicants should have FoodSafe Level 1, basic cash register skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team. English proficiency is required, and prior healthcare/hotel/restaurant experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• FoodSafe Level 1 Certification required.
• Experience with cash register is a plus.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently or in a team.
• Good command of English, verbal and written.
• Previous food service experience in healthcare, hotel, restaurant or fast food is an asset.
• Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, wash, peel, cut and seed fruits and vegetables.
• Carry pans, kettles and trays to and from work stations.
• Store food with proper wrapping, dating, food safety and rotation procedures.
• Set up items for purchase daily.
• Clean and dispose of trash and garbage.
• Distribute supplies, utensils and portable equipment.
• Follow approved recipes and production standards for quality and portions.
• Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner.
• Resolve customer concerns and relay information to supervisor.
• Ensure sanitation and safety compliance.
• Provide service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving.
