Job summary

Solina in Toronto is seeking a Process & Packaging Automation Technician who will serve as the plant’s automation subject matter expert. Your primary role is to ensure reliable operation of automated manufacturing and packaging systems by providing advanced troubleshooting, technical support, and automation expertise.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years in industrial automation in manufacturing.
• Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment.
• Process and packaging automation experience preferred.
• Food manufacturing experience is a significant asset.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex automation issues in manufacturing and packaging equipment (PLC/HPIs/Networks).
• Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, networks, VFDs, sensors, instrumentation, and control systems.
• Provide advanced controls support to maintenance technicians and electricians.
• Minimize downtime through fault diagnosis and rapid problem resolution.
• Maintain automation backups, documentation, and software revisions.
• Collaborate with OEMs, system integrators, contractors and suppliers.
• Support installation, commissioning, startup and validation of new automation equipment.
• Ensure automation systems meet food safety and quality requirements.
• Mentor maintenance personnel on automation topics.
