Mpac in Mississauga, ON, is seeking a Technical Support Specialist to provide expert technical support for sophisticated automated packaging machinery throughout its lifecycle. You will collaborate with customers, Service, Engineering, Operations, and Retrofit teams to ensure equipment performance, reliability, and customer satisfaction.

You will troubleshoot, solve problems, support installations and commissioning, and contribute to continuous improvement in a dynamic global packaging

Qualifications

• Degree, diploma, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 5–8 years' experience in electrical automation or manufacturing environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical control systems and automation.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Technical Support Specialist, you will:

• Provide first-line technical support to customers, field technicians, and internal teams.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, controls, and programming-related issues.
• Support machine installations, commissioning, Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), and internal FAT activities.
• Assist with electrical debugging and controls validation to ensure systems perform according to design specifications.
• Support PLC program loading and basic programming activities on standard equipment.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Assembly, and Service teams to resolve technical challenges efficiently.
• Update and maintain electrical documentation and schematics as required.
• Provide feedback and recommendations to improve machine performance and product quality.
• Help identify training requirements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with customers through exceptional service and responsive communication.

What We're Looking For

• Degree, diploma, or equivalent technical education in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 5-8 years' experience in electrical automation, industrial machinery, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical control systems and industrial automation.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical.
• Experience supporting machine commissioning, debugging, and technical problem resolution.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers and internal stakeholders effectively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Highly Desirable

• Experience with high-speed packaging machinery.
• Knowledge of industrial safety standards, control-reliable design principles, and machine safety requirements.
• Experience supporting field service and aftermarket operations.
