Job summary

Alterra is recruiting for a Seasonal-Part Time position at Blue Mountain Resort in Ontario. The role focuses on processing payments and serving food within Base Lodges, while maintaining quick-service standards.

You will perform front-of-house tasks including bussing, cleaning, and basic food-service duties. Eligibility includes high school completion and Smart Serve certification; candidate must be 18+ and comfortable with basic math.

Qualifications

• Strong basic math ability to accurately count.
• Basic working knowledge of food and beverage operations.
• Basic Food Safety knowledge and practices.

Responsibilities

• Process payments and/or serve food in the Base Lodges while upholding service standards.
• Enter meal selections into POS and handle cash or card payments.
• Assist with busing tables and general cleaning duties across the front of house.
• Clear guest trays, sanitize tables and chairs, and manage waste/recycling.
• Assist in serving in staff cafeteria and support cookie delivery to hotel rooms when scheduled.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

The main purpose of this position is to process payments and/or serve food within the Base Lodges while providing the best service possible while maintaining the service standards of a quick service restaurant. This diverse position includes all functions of the Front of House including busing tables and general cleaning duties.

• Accurately enter meal selections into POS and process payment. (cash, credit/debit card payments
• Scoop ice cream into cones or cups (summer only)
• Clear Guest’s trays and debris form table; sanitize tables, chairs (all surfaces)
• Change garbage, recycle and compost bins
• Helping serve food in the staff cafeteria, excepting payments for food, setting up and cleaning up
• When scheduled in Death Cookie; deliver cookie orders to hotel rooms across the resort by foot, process debit/credit payments at the room with the guest, take cookie orders over the phone

WHAT DO YOU NEED FROM ME?

• Some completion of High School
• To clear tables and ring in alcohol purchases, candidate must have Smart Serve certification. We will provide training, but you must be 18 years of age to be certified.
