Job summary

Blue Mountain Resort is seeking a Seasonal, full-time bartender to serve a variety of beverages and support service from the bar to servers. You will learn the beverage offerings, handle guest orders via POS, and maintain stock and reporting.

This role requires Smart Serve certification, weekend availability, and reliable transportation. Competitive gratuity opportunities accompany base wages in a dynamic resort setting.

Responsibilities

• Open and close bar procedures for seamless shift transitions.
• Process guest orders accurately using the POS system.
• Maintain cash-out deposits and reconcile transactions.
• Have comprehensive knowledge of beverages and menus to assist guests.
• Monitor inventory and ensure bar is stocked to meet demand.
• Check IDs to enforce liquor regulations for guests under 25.
• Prepare cocktails and draft beer per established standards.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

The purpose of this role is to prepare and serve a variety of beverages to bar patrons and to provide beverage service from the service bar to bar servers and dining room servers.

• Performs all opening and closing procedures for the bar, including necessary preparation and cleanup tasks, to ensure seamless operations between shifts.
• Processes guest orders accurately and efficiently using the designated point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Maintains accurate cash-out deposits through diligent monitoring of cash exchanges, reconciliation of debit and credit transactions, and thorough review of end-of-shift reporting.
• Demonstrates comprehensive knowledge of beverage and menu offerings and promotional features to assist guests with selections and enhance their overall experience.
• Monitors inventory levels, maintains par stocks, submits replenishment orders, and ensures the bar is consistently stocked to meet operational and guest service demands.
• Ensures compliance with liquor licensing regulations by consistently checking valid identification for guests who appear under the age of 25.
• Maintains comprehensive knowledge of food and beverage offerings, prepares cocktails and draft beer to established standards, and engages guests through effective product recommendations and suggestive selling.
