Job summary

Gold Star Foods seeks a Router/Dispatcher in Canada to plan and coordinate routing schedules for delivery trucks, ensuring efficient fleet utilization and timely deliveries to customers.

You will develop routes with stops, assign backhauls, update daily routing sheets, and communicate loading requirements to drivers while adapting to changing conditions and maintaining accurate documentation; strong organizational and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; related experience helps.
• 2+ years in transportation routing, scheduling, or logistics required or preferred.
• Experience with routing software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plans delivery routes for each driver to meet customer demands and optimize fleet use.
• Incorporates delivery time requirements into routing to minimize costs.
• Determines optimal truck space utilization and stops.
• Prepares loading and driver sheets with clear route details for each day.
• Prepares notes for loading/delivery activities requested by customers.
• Assigns backhaul orders to appropriate drivers to optimize area coverage.
• Reviews and updates routes from the previous day to improve efficiency.
