Job summary

SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd is seeking a Transport Controller to join the Transport Department in Canada. You will organize logistics, dispatch drivers, and ensure service levels while reporting to the Transport Manager.

The role requires 3–5 years of fleet controlling experience, leadership ability, and strong computer skills. You will ensure roadworthy vehicles, oversee procedures, and maintain safety and incident reporting.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent required as baseline.
• Transport Management or similar qualification is advantageous.
• Proven leadership ability and the ability to lead by example.
• Computer literacy including MS Word/Excel and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage day to day transport service requirements.
• Dispatching and debriefing drivers.
• Produce daily tracking reports and updates.
• Be first point of contact for drivers and ensure customer service levels.
• Oversee fleet safety, branding, and vehicle condition.
• Coordinate driver scheduling, audits, and PPE issuance.
• Maintain driver-related documentation and incident reports.
