Position Summary:

The Fleet Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory related to fleet operations, including vehicles, parts, equipment, lubricants, and maintenance services. This role plays a key part in ensuring operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness through strategic procurement, vendor negotiations, and inventory oversight. The Fleet Buyer works closely with fleet maintenance teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Source and procure fleet-related products and services including equipment, parts, tools, PPE, lubricants, vehicles, and repair services.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and service agreements with suppliers to optimize cost savings and ensure timely delivery.
• Support the rollout and management of national procurement programs (e.g., national fuel, lubricants, containers, parts, etc.).
• Collaborate with fleet and maintenance teams to forecast needs and ensure appropriate inventory levels are maintained.
• Monitor supplier performance, resolve issues, and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Ensure procurement activities align with company policies, compliance requirements, and safety standards.
• Process purchase orders and maintain accurate records in procurement and fleet management systems.
• Identify opportunities to streamline purchasing processes and improve supply chain efficiency.
• Track spend, savings, and performance metrics to report to management.
• Support cross-functional initiatives related to cost reduction, standardization, and vendor consolidation.

Qualifications:

• Post-secondary education in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3+ years of experience in procurement or fleet-related purchasing; experience in logistics or maintenance operations an asset.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
• Familiarity with fleet maintenance practices, equipment, and national programs is preferred.
• Proficient in procurement systems
• Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with national purchasing initiatives.
• valid driver's license
