Job summary

CapWest is seeking a Flagger to join our construction team in Coquitlam, BC. You will manage traffic control in work zones year-round and read traffic management plans with Onni Group training support.

Responsibilities include signaling, positioning signs, directing detours, and maintaining safe, orderly flow of traffic while delivering excellent service to workers and drivers alike.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of 2015 Traffic Management Manual.
• Valid TCP Certificate.
• Outdoor work at construction sites in varying weather.
• Lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Control movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects.
• Read and manage traffic management plans.

• Distribute traffic control signs and markers along site.
• Control traffic through site using signals.
• Warn workers of unsafe vehicle behavior.

There is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to join the construction team as a Flagger. As a Traffic Control professional, you will be responsible for providing traffic control in Coquitlam work zones year-round. Onni will provide you with the training and knowledge needed to ensure regulations and procedures are properly carried out.

What Will You Do?

• Controls movement of vehicular traffic through construction projects.
• Ability to read and manage traffic management plans.
• Ability to perform traffic management field audits.
• Distributes traffic control signs and markers along site in designated pattern.
• Controls movement of traffic through site, using sign, hand, and flag signals.
• Warns construction workers when approaching vehicle fails to heed signals to prevent accident and injury to workers.
• Informs drivers of detour routes through construction sites.
• Provide the highest level of customer service to all customers.
• Includes on-time arrival and well managed work zones.
• Keep equipment well organized and in working order.
• Other Duties not listed may apply.

What You Bring.

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience

• Work is performed outdoors at construction sites dealing with inclement weather. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required.
• Proper lifting techniques required which may include lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Require standing for long periods of time.
